Inspection register template: what a template has to contain
An empty template is worth only what it forces you to write. Here are the fields, the obligations to write into them, and where to read the source.
Every value quoted here is read from the same sourced rules that prepare the registers. Nothing on this page is reworded.
The fields of an entry
Four, and they are enough. They are the ones a tigidu register keeps.
No example date is written on this page. A register is filled with what actually happened in your building, and a specimen padded with invented dates would be the exact opposite of what we keep.
The obligations to write into it
A template that leaves the « obligation » column blank also leaves you to guess which one. Ours are named the way the rule names them, with the standard quoted beside each and the caveat wherever the rule carries one.
The official source
The regulation is published by the Régie du bâtiment du Québec and their page is free. That is the source; we are only an attentive reader of it.
Why ours arrives already filled in
An empty template leaves you the longest part of the job: working out which obligations apply to your kitchen. We build them in advance, address by address, from the City of Montreal's open data.
Data: City of Montréal · MAPAQ. Rules: Safety Code ch. VIII, NFPA, CAN/ULC. Rules verified on Aug 21, 2026. Regulatory journal →
The operator remains solely legally responsible for the establishment's compliance. Tigidu is a record-keeping and coordination tool — not a contractor, an inspector, or legal advice.
