What the law asks for here

Chapter VIII of Quebec's Safety Code requires the operator to keep a register of safety-equipment verifications — accessible at all times. These are the obligations that apply to this establishment's assumed profile.

Assumed profile: full service — the same default on every prepared register, never inferred from the category above. Claim the register to refine it.

No status shown — this register has not yet been claimed by its operator.

Data: City of Montréal · MAPAQ. Rules: Safety Code ch. VIII, NFPA, CAN/ULC. Rules verified on Aug 21, 2026. Regulatory journal

The operator remains solely legally responsible for the establishment's compliance. Tigidu is a record-keeping and coordination tool — not a contractor, an inspector, or legal advice.

Straight questions, straight answers

Why do you have a page about my restaurant?

Because the City of Montréal publishes the list of its food establishments as open data, and we prepared the register Chapter VIII asks for in advance — for everyone, not only for customers. The page restates the law and never shows a status. If we wrote to you, your email address came from a publication of your own business (website, official page), and “STOP” is enough to never hear from us again.

Is the inspection register really required?

Yes. Chapter VIII (Building) of Québec's Safety Code requires the operator to keep a register of checks and maintenance — hood, extinguishers, alarm, emergency lighting. Tigidu restates the law and cites the norms; every establishment's page is free and will stay free.

My hood vendor already reminds me. Why Tigidu?

Your vendor tracks THEIR visit. The required register covers ALL obligations, together, with certificates filed and a dossier that comes out in one click when the inspector, insurer or landlord asks. Tigidu inspects nothing: it keeps the file, complete.
